The most effective treatment for ROP is laser therapy. In our practice we use pattern retinal laser photocoagulation at optimal postnatal age in babies (no more than 2 months)
PROGRESSIVE MYOPIA IN CHILDREN
In our clinic we use several effective methods to reduce the progression
GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma - is
a condition in which the optic nerve is damaged.
It can be associated with elevated pressure inside
the eye and can lead to vision loss. Blindness resulting
from glaucoma can't be treated as the optic nerve
is damaged. Damage already done cannot be reversed.
Early detection and treatment by your ophthalmologist
are the keys to preventing blindness from glaucoma. You
should consult your eye doctor at least once a year.
What causes
vision loss?
The main cause of vision
drop - the optic nerve atrophy that result from increased
intraocular pressure. This elevated pressure can be caused
by two factors:
overy big production of fluid within the eye
a decrease ability of the eye to drain
out of the eye
The symptoms
of increased intraocular pressure
blurry vision
seeing halos around lights
feeling discomfort in the eye
mild aching in the eyes
tearing
hard to see in nightlight
small pain around the eye
Only a specialist can detect if you have
glaucoma and what type of glaucoma you have. The treatment
for glaucoma depends upon the nature and severity of each
case.
In our clinic several new methods were
developed aimed to prevent loss of vision. They include
magnetic and laser stimulation of the optic nerve that improves
vision.
Early detection of glaucoma, appropriate
and ongoing treatment using modern techniques can save remaining
vision but it doesn't improve eye sight.
